Missing

Two days before the winter break I got a dizzy spell that was rather startling. I reached out for my coworkers arm and she guided me to a wall I could rest against. She called for the school nurse, and soon I was in her office getting my blood pressure checked. It was high, but not dangerously so. I let her know that two weeks prior I had a dizzy spell, a bit milder, that occurred while I was driving. She asked if I went to see a doctor, and I said no. She told me it was time to see a doctor.

The doctor discovered that it was from a sinus infection that never really went a way, became a bacterial infection and created a build up of fluid in my ears. The fluid was causing the dizzy spells. I was given an antibiotic and three days of steroids to clear up the infection.

I miss the last two days of school before the holidays. No winter holiday parties, no visiting with the parents, no laughter from the kids, no fun with my coworkers. I have two weeks off, I should be celebrating. I’m sure I will feel happy soon. Right now I am just in the middle of missing.

  1. I am sure your coworkers and the kids missed you, too. They were thinking about you and hoping you were feeling better.
