Art Images at the MET

โ€”

I got the job that I interviewed for. I will be working as a teacher’s aide with non-verbal children with autism. The size of the class will be new for me, there are sixteen students. I am used to having about ten or twelve. The principal wanted me to understand that it is a challenging role. While I am thrilled that I got the job, I know it will be a difficult transition. I suspect that I will feel overwhelmed at first.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is acquiring all of the catalogues of the art gallery Women & Their Work. That means that two images of my artworks from the show “Slouching Toward 2000: The Politics of Gender” will be included in the catalogues of the MET. It was an exciting announcement that brought back many memories.

These days I am just waiting for human resources to approve my position, and then I can move forward. Time is moving so slowly while waiting to hear about my next steps for the job, but in other ways it is speeding so fast. The holidays are almost upon us.
