I Made It!

I usually wake up each morning with a sense of dread that I just have to battle in order to get on with my day. I haven’t had that on my new medicine. I also have more energy, which is very welcome. It’s at a normal level, whatever that is, so it’s not hypomania. Another thing I noticed is that I was able to cry. It had been a very long time since I had a good cry.

I am mildly wired. My psychiatrist gave me the choice to raise my medicine to alleviate the wired feeling, or stay at the same dose, and I decided to stay at the same dose. If I can have the positive benefits at a lower dose, the wired feeling won’t bother me. I can give up caffeine and maybe that will help eliminate the feeling. I can always raise my medication at any time, so it’s a good choice.

I’ve also had less of an appetite, which is a huge relief! I have lost three pounds. I don’t know if it will continue, but it’s nice to see the scale going down for a change. I’m hoping that the lower the dose, the more of a positive benefit I will experience. I should have asked my psychiatrist that, so I will follow up with him in a few days.

Overall, the changes have been positive and I have made it to the other side of the medication change!
