Older Collage

I am not liking any of my current work, so I am posting some older collages and assemblages to remind me that I used to like my work.

So I accidentally posted this to Moody Paper instead of my art site. I will just use this post to talk about it all. I have not been liking the art I have been blessed with the time to make. I feel like an awkward teenager, stumbling around in search of an identity. So for now I am just posting older work at my art site, just as a reminder that I used to dig my work.

Maybe it’s because I am lost. I am so lost. I should be making art about that and it would probably be more authentic. But I don’t want to look at it right now. I just want to start the next chapter, which will begin next week with my new job. Then with some time, I will peel back the layers and look for myself again.

  2. This collage looks like a esoterically adventurous, legend-like map. Plus it feels like more of a map since you mentioned the possibility of you being lost. Maybe your posting this map-like work will help you find what you might be looking for and/or maybe might help you find you? Fascinating.

    1. Interesting observation, I love it! When I made this collage I was also lost, but I was making better art while wandering. It encourages me to keep searching as I create, so I think you are spot on, it will help me find myself again.
